From April 11-13th, we were thrilled to host an in-person gathering for our cohort members in Austin, Texas for our quarterly meet up packed with extra perks and value. After having to cancel our Los Angeles gathering in January due to the delta variant, we made it our mission to also make this trip a mini retreat and a chance to renew and inspire every member. It was a wonderful opportunity to meet, build, and spend time together in person! Here is what we did in Austin:
Cocktail Mixer at P6 Rooftop, Line Hotel ATX
We hosted a cocktail party at the Line Hotel Austin where cohort members engaged with investors, local community leaders, and other friends of Fyli. Attendees enjoyed cocktails and complimentary light bites with a beautiful view overlooking Lady Bird Lake.
“Own Your Raise” Masterclass by Deanna Brown
Our cohort members enjoyed an informative masterclass led by Deanna Brown, Managing Director of Penske Media Fund + Advisor & Investor, on how to “Own Your Raise”. We learned about tackling the challenges we face as female founders securing capital and how to navigate the ever-changing landscape. We discussed the differences between rounds, traditional VC vs angel investment, debt equity, terms & what investors look for in a founder. Attendees were able to gain invaluable insights by asking Deanna questions throughout the session, and left feeling empowered to not only own their raise but also their RISE!
After the masterclass, our cohort members enjoyed a delicious lunch provided by the Line Hotel and had some time to meet and mingle with members of other cohorts.
Roundtable sessions
Cohorts 3 and 4 participated in a roundtable session with their group facilitator/Fyli team leader. Our roundtables serve as an opportunity to check-in on members’ professional & personal lives, and also as a forum to ask for advice/feedback and strategize together to overcome any current challenges. These sessions help to build group trust, vulnerability, support and accountability, and gives each member the opportunity to make “asks” on what they need help with.
Icons Cohort members enjoyed a special energy healing session with Krista Nerestant, Founder of Self-ish Lifestyle, Best Selling Author, and Healer & Medium, focused on a spirit guide journey and learning to trust your initiation and inner voice.
Cohorts Special Supper
We hosted a special V.I.P. dinner for our cohorts, partners, and supporters at the culinary staple Bar Peached in their Eastwood Private Dining Room. We also held a networking session right before dinner to connect with one another.
A highlight of the night was when each woman went around stating her superpower. “We are all superwomen and each one of us has a unique skill and super power we bring to the table”-Jaclynn Brennan, Fyli CEO & Co-Founder
There’s no better feeling than being in a room full of extraordinary women who champion each other to succeed. Fyli is dedicated to creating safe spaces for women to collaborate, inspire, and connect, because we know the magic women can create when we work together. It was an amazing night!
Biohacking session with Kristen Weitzel
We concluded our Austin gathering with a Biohacking session led by Kristin Weitzel, Founder of Warrior Woman Mode + Biohacking Expert. We started with a Breathwork session and then participated in an ice bath!
We learned that ice baths have many major health benefits: It helps you better manage stress in your lives, improves sleep, builds the brown adipose tissue–which keeps us lean and healthy, and boosts mood. Each of us sat in the bath for 2 minutes and felt refreshed and rejuvenated after.
As entrepreneurs, taking care of ourselves holistically is so important. Factoring in a Biohacking session during our 3-day gathering with our cohort members was much needed and highly beneficial.
Thank you Kristin for empowering us to be fearless!
