We are beyond excited to introduce Britt Turpack, member of our 6th cohort, to our community. She is a mental health advocate, pilates teacher, and a bright light in our tribe. The work she’s doing in health and wellness is admirable, so we just had to dive deeper! Check out our interview below with Britt as we discuss all things mental health and more:

Britt, we are so excited to have you in our tribe! Please share a little bit about yourself with our community.

I love all things wellness! I am a mental health advocate, speaker, and pilates teacher. I have been affiliated and have worked with NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) for the last 6 years doing early education and prevention work in the mental health space, and in the last year, I started my own business, BE WELL WITH BRITT. I love movement. I love going on walks, going to pilates classes, hiking…anything that is a healthy activity. Coffee is one of my most favorite things in life but truly, the thing I love the most are my cats.

We love that you are a mental health speaker and pilates teacher who is passionate about mental, physical, and spiritual wellness. What inspired you to help others prioritize their health in these areas?

My own personal journey with mental health. Regardless of whether you live with a mental health condition or not, WE ALL HAVE MENTAL HEALTH! We all have brains and we all experience stress. I love sharing my favorite ways to deal with that stress in a healthy way.

You also use your passion for advocacy and wellness on college campuses with sororities! Tell us more about how this came about and the incredible work you’re doing with young women.

I have started hosting these wellness events on college campuses across the country specifically with sororities initially because I was getting booked by these sororities to come and speak on mental health at their school. Given my background in fitness, I thought it would be fun to combine both the movement piece and the education/awareness piece and create these experiences where sororities can come together in community, have fun, move their bodies, and learn about an important message!

What are some of your favorite words of advice to share with women who want to strengthen their mental health?

I love this question! Start with small consistent steps. Consistency is the key to long term success. Just like you would schedule in a meeting for work or a doctors appointment, schedule in brain breaks AKA time for YOU! Maybe that looks like 15 minutes of no screen time, a 10 minute walk, or starting your day with meditation and journaling exercises. Commit to you.

You recently joined our 6th Mastermind cohort alongside some other amazing female founders! What motivated you to join a female founder community?

Truthfully, Jax. When I first met her, it just felt right. I like the community aspect in terms of accountability. Given I work for myself, it’s nice to have people to bounce ideas off of.

What are you looking forward to the most over the next 12 months with your cohort members?

As an entrepreneur, sometimes it feels isolating working for yourself. It’s really inspiring and empowering, and you know you are your biggest cheerleader, but there are days when you feel like you’re losing your mind! So it’s nice to have a community, especially for your mental health. I love having a team of women who have my back and I’m really grateful for the friendships I’m building!

We believe everyone has a unique “superpower” that makes them special. What is your superpower?

I am a light!  I know that my presence and the energy I share is fun and uplifting, and me being authentically me is one of my gifts that allows me to do the work that I do!
