May 10, 2023 By Alesia Stradford

Every month, we feature one of our amazing cohort members on our blog to highlight their businesses and the incredible work they’re doing. This month, we have the pleasure of featuring Shannon Judd! Shannon is a member of our 5th Mastermind cohort and Co-founder of Transition Sports & Entertainment. Let’s get started!

Welcome to the tribe Shannon! Can you tell our community a little bit about yourself?

I am a Co-Founder and CEO at Transition Sports. Transition helps to empower athletes to position themselves and their brands as enduring businesses – to transcend their value on the court to create economies of meaning for the benefit of themselves, their families, and their communities. Prior to working with athletes, I worked as a NY based go-to-market consultant for new or re-emerging brands and businesses. My husband and I (and doggo!) make our home in West Phoenix, where we’ll be opening West Rose Tasting Room in the coming year.

I love what you are doing with Transition Sports & Entertainment for athletes and entertainers. Can you tell us more about Transition’s mission and what inspired you to create this incredible company?

TSE was originally founded by Keith Bulluck, after he retired from 11 years in the NFL. My partners, Jason Bayuk and Don Povia, and I helped bring his vision to life.

What do you love most about being an entrepreneur?

shannon judd

I love creativity and problem solving!

When you aren’t tending to your business, what are some of your favorite things to do for fun?

Hanging with family & friends, Golf, Pickleball, Hiking, and spending time at the lake (my go-to)!

I see that West Rose Tasting Room is coming in December 2023 👀. Spill the tea girl!

My husband and I are opening a tasting room-style wine bar. The community response for its opening has been overwhelmingly positive. All those years of bartending & drinking wine have finally paid off! I never thought it would lead to this, but here we are!

When did you realize you needed a tribe of female founders to support you as you continue on your entrepreneurial journey?

About a year ago, I felt as though I didn’t have any peers that could relate to what I was experiencing. I yearned to find a community where I felt I could trust, share my experiences, & receive honest/ authentic feedback.

We’re so excited to have you in our 5th Mastermind cohort! What are you looking forward to the most over the next 12 months with your cohort members?

The thing I was the most excited about when joining fylí was finding a group of women in similar positions to me and really getting to share in a safe place our challenges, fears, failures, ideas, and inspiration. It’s been really awesome; one of the best decisions I’ve made in my career. I’m so excited for the upcoming quarters and I’m really grateful to be a part of this tribe.

We believe everyone has a unique “superpower” that makes them stand apart from others. What is your superpower?

shannon judd

My biggest super power is my resilience and ability to push through any challenge that comes my way!
